THE FATHER IS EXPECTED TO LEAD HIS FAMILY IN FAITH MATTERS.
The Father is the person the family looks to for leadership.
Joshua 24:15 AMP tells us…
“If it is unacceptable in your sight to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve: whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you live; but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”
THE FATHER SHOULD LOVE WITH SACRIFICIAL GRACE
Psalms 102:13 AMP
“You will arise and have compassion on Zion, For it is time to be gracious and show favor to her; Yes, the appointed time [the moment designated] has come.”
“Like as a father pities his children, so the Lord pity those that fear Him.”
-Psalm 102:13
Proverbs 4:1-4 – A godly father passes down wisdom, guards his children’s hearts, and teaches them to love God’s commandments.
Proverbs 13:22 – A good man leaves an inheritance of character, faith, and blessings to his children’s children.
Proverbs 23:24 – The father of a righteous child has great joy; a wise son brings gladness to his heart.
COMPASSION and PROTECTION
Psalm 103:13 – As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him.
Proverbs 14:26 – Whoever fears the Lord has a secure fortress, and for their children it will be a refuge.
Malachi 4:6 – God desires to turn the hearts of the fathers to their children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers.
James 5:16 – Protects Through Prayer. He protects his children through effective prayer.
Leadership and Example
Joshua 24:15 – A godly father takes a firm spiritual stand, declaring, “As for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.”
Ephesians 6:4 – Fathers must not exasperate their children, but instead bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.
1 Thessalonians 2:11-12 – A father deals with his children by encouraging, comforting, and urging them to live lives worthy of Go.
NOW LET US PRAY
Most Holy God, thank You for blessing us with this day.
Father, we glorify You for all that You are to us.
Thank you Lord for the Godly Fathers among us.
Lord, we pray for all the Fathers among us, that You would strengthen them and equip them with all they need for father their children.
Holy Spirit, abide with each one of us in our going in and going out throughout this today.
In Jesus’Mighty name, I pray. Amen
