The concept of building an altar is often used as a metaphor for a life of worship and spiritual devotion.
We must not just ask God to bless us; we are to give Him a life He can bless. So we can build an altar for His glory.
Exodus 20:24 AMP instruct usβ¦
βYou shall make an altar of earth for Me, and sacrifice on it your burnt offerings and your peace offerings, your sheep and your oxen.
In every place where I cause My Name to be recorded and remembered [through revelation of My divine nature] I will come to you and bless you.β
In Scripture, an altar is a place of worship, sacrifice, and encounter with God.
Today, we may not build stone altars, but God still wants altars-in our hearts and lives.
What does it mean to build an altar for His glory?
ο»Ώο»Ώ
It means living a life of surrender to God, not to self.
ο»Ώο»Ώ
It means giving God our time, obedience and worship.
ο»Ώο»Ώ
It means saying, “Not my will, but Yours be done.”
When we build an altar to God with our lives:
ο»Ώο»Ώ
God shows up.
ο»Ώο»Ώ
His glory is revealed.
ο»Ώο»Ώ
We are changed, and others are drawn to God.
