There Is Strength In Our Surrender To God – By Iwalola(Lola) Ademodi

Beloved, just as children learn to surrender their will to their parents, we must also learn to surrender our wills to our heavenly Father.

Instead, we say, like our Lord Jesus Christ. Who totally surrendered His will to God, when His life was on the line in Luke and Mark.

Luke 22:41-43 AMP tells us…

“And He withdrew from them about a stone’s throw, and knelt down and prayed, saying, “Father, if You are willing, remove this cup [of divine wrath] from Me;

yet not My will, but [always] Yours be done.”

Now an angel appeared to Him from heaven, strengthening Him.”

𝐏𝐋𝐄𝐀𝐒𝐄 𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐃 𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐒𝐄 𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐒𝐄𝐒 𝐀𝐆𝐀𝐈𝐍, 𝐁𝐔𝐓 𝐒𝐋𝐎𝐖𝐋𝐘.

Also, Mark 14:36 AMP tells us…

“He was saying, “Abba, Father! All things are possible for You; take this cup [of judgment] away from Me; but not what I will, but what You will.””

When we truly surrender to God, we no longer fuss about what we want, when we want it, and how we want it.

We do not have to defend ourselves just as Jesus Christ did not defend Himself to anyone (especially those who accused Him) once He surrendered His ALL to God.

I remember puritan Richard Baxter, who said “Lord, what thou wilt, where thou wilt, and when thou wilt.”

Zechariah 4:6 AMP tells us…

“Then he said to me, “This [continuous supply of oil] is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel [prince of Judah], saying, ‘Not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit [of whom the oil is a symbol],’ says the Lord of hosts.”

Our Surrender Releases God’s Power on our behalf.

We stop depending on ourselves

We experience God’s enabling Spirit

Our Surrender Aligns Us With God’s Will for our lives.

We gain divine direction

We avoid wasted effort

Our Surrender Sustains Us in the midst of Trials in our lives.

We find peace in God’s control

We endure with supernatural strength

𝐍𝐎𝐖 𝐋𝐄𝐓 𝐔𝐒 𝐏𝐑𝐀𝐘

Most holy God, thank You that You are a God to whom we can truly surrender to.

Thank You for Your intense love for us through Jesus Christ.

Than You Lord Jesus for showing us an example of true surrender to You God.

Holy Spirit, empower us, and give us the desire to TOTALLY surrender our will to Yours.

We give You all the glory and adoration Triune God for ALL that You are in our lives.
