Beloved, it is the truth that most people want to be rich in life because it makes them feel comfortable.
Infact society equals riches as being successful in life.
Donโt get me wrong there is nothing wrong in being rich. However, success is not the same from a spiritual standpoint.
True richness begins with a vibrant relationship with God.
The Bible defines true riches not as material wealth, but as spiritual and relational blessings. These include:
Faith in God and Putting first His Kingdom and righteousness.
A true knowledge of the love of God and Forgiveness of sins,
The gift of eternal life through Christ,
Integrity and Character.
Loving relationships with others and contributing to the community.
The Word of God emphasizes the importance of seeking God’s kingdom and righteousness first, as material needs will be provided for us, warns against placing hope in uncertain riches.
1 Timothyโฌ โญ6โฌ:โญ17โฌ-โญ19โฌ โญAMPโฌโฌ warnsโฆ
โ As for the rich in this present world, instruct them not to be conceited and arrogant, nor to set their hope on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, who richly and ceaselessly provides us with everything for our enjoyment.
Instruct them to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous, willing to share [with others]. In this way storing up for themselves the enduring riches of a good foundation for the future, so that they may take hold of that which is truly life.โ

Personally, I can confess that there is peace and fulfillment that comes from seeking God first.
We must prioritize spending time with God through prayer, bible study, and worship.
In Matthewโฌ โญ6โฌ:โญ33โฌ โญAMPโฌโฌ, Jesus instructs usโฆ
โ But first and most importantly seek (aim at, strive after) His kingdom and His righteousness [His way of doing and being rightโthe attitude and character of God], and all these things will be given to you also.โ
The Bible highlights that true riches are found in having faith in God and receiving His grace through Jesus Christ, including forgiveness of sins and eternal life

Loving and Being Loved:
The Bible emphasizes the importance of loving God and loving others, creating strong relationships within families and communities.
We must invest time and effort in building loving relationships with family, friends, and neighbors in sacrificial love.
Also the ability to truly know and experience God’s love is considered a profound and valuable treasure.
1 Corinthiansโฌ โญ13โฌ:โญ1โฌ-โญ3โฌ โญAMPโฌโฌ tells us
โ If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love [for others growing out of Godโs love for me], then I have become only a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal [just an annoying distraction].
And if I have the gift of prophecy [and speak a new message from God to the people], and understand all mysteries, and [possess] all knowledge; and if I have all [sufficient] faith so that I can remove mountains, but do not have love [reaching out to others], I am nothing.
If I give all my possessions to feed the poor, and if I surrender my body to be burned, but do not have love, it does me no good at all.โ

Having a strong family life, with loving relationships between parents and children, is considered a blessing.

God is described as a provider of abundance and will supply all our needs, according to His riches in glory, says Philippians 4:19.

We are to strive to live with integrity, honesty, and obedience to God’s commands.

We must selflessly served others. We should look for opportunities to serve, volunteer, and make a difference in the lives of others.

โ In everything I showed you [by example] that by working hard in this way you must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He Himself said, โIt is more blessed [and brings greater joy] to give than to receive.โ โโ

Uncertainty of Material Possessions:
The Bible warns against placing one’s hope in material wealth, as these possessions are temporary and can be lost or destroyed.
We are to Focus on Eternal Treasures:
The Bible encourages storing up treasures in heaven, which are enduring and will bring true happiness in the afterlife.
Material wealth can lead to pride, selfishness, and a lack of focus on spiritual matters.
Faith and trust in God are essential for experiencing abundance and prosperity, both materially and spiritually.
In essence, the Bible’s definition of true riches encompasses spiritual blessings, loving relationships, and a life lived in accordance with God’s will, rather than material possessions

Holy God, that You for giving us clarity in Your Word regarding true riches.
Father, help us to focus on spiritual riches that matter to You.
Holy Spirit, teach us to trust in God for contentment in the spiritual riches You have blessed us with.
Abide with us Lord Jesus, as we abide in You.
