~ HOW TO CULTIVATE A WALK BY FAITH
Beloved, let us explore what it takes for us to actually walk by faith.
We must immerse ourselves in the Word of God.
The Bible tells us in Romans 10:17 AMP
”So faith comes from hearing [what is told], and what is heard comes by the [preaching of the] message concerning Christ.”
Regularly read, study, and meditate on Scripture to strengthen your faith.
We must deepen our prayer lives, with daily fervent prayers.
Prayer builds intimacy with God, reinforces faith, and helps you rely on His wisdom and power.
Jeremiah 33:3 AMP invites us to:
”Call to Me and I will answer you, and tell you [and even show you] great and mighty things, [things which have been confined and hidden], which you do not know and understand and cannot distinguish.’”
We must obey God’s guidance and will in order to walk by faith.
Trust and obey God’s instructions, even when His plan isn’t clear, to experience His faithfulness. The Holy Spirit is our help to order our steps into the center of God’s will.
Hebrews 11:8 AMP gave us an example:
”By faith Abraham, when he was called [by God], obeyed by going to a place which he was to receive as an inheritance; and he went, not knowing where he was going.”
We must trust God’s timing
We are to have patience, believing that God’s timing is perfect and His plans are always for your good.
Psalms 27:14 AMP advice us:
”Wait for and confidently expect the Lord; Be strong and let your heart take courage; Yes, wait for and confidently expect the Lord.”
We are to seek and be part of Faith-building community
We are to surround ourself with believers who encourage, strengthen, and inspire you through shared faith and testimonies.
Hebrews 10:24 AMP says we should encourage one another.
“and let us consider [thoughtfully] how we may encourage one another to love and to do good deeds,”
We must learn to take bold steps of faith.
We are to act in obedience even when things are uncertain, to witness God’s provision and power in our lives.
2 Corinthians 5:7 AMP encourages us that:
”for we walk by faith, not by sight [living our lives in a manner consistent with our confident belief in God’s promises]”
We are to focus on Jesus Christ, in order to walk by faith.
We must keep our focus on Jesus Christ to remain steadfast, overcoming doubt, fear, and distractions.
Hebrews 12:2 AMP encourages us:
”[looking away from all that will distract us and] focusing our eyes on Jesus, who is the Author and Perfecter of faith [the first incentive for our belief and the One who brings our faith to maturity], who for the joy [of accomplishing the goal] set before Him endured the cross, disregarding the shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God [revealing His deity, His authority, and the completion of His work].”
NOW LET US PRAY
Holy God, Father, thank You for helping us to walk by faith.
Holy Spirit, we depend on You to help us to lead us to read and study Your Word diligently.
Lord, help us to obey Your will in all that we do
Father, bless us with an intimate relationship with You in fervent prayers.
Holy Spirit, we need You to lead and guide us to walk by faith at all times.
Lord, help us to fix our eyes on Jesus Christ, the author and perfecter of our faith in You.
