Knowledge Of The Trinity 4 – By Iwalola(Lola) Ademodi

~ GOD THE HOLY SPIRIT

💥Along with God the Father and God the Son (Jesus Christ), God the Holy Spirit is the third member of the Godhead or the Trinity . He is described as Fully God.

💥The Bible makes it very clear that the Holy Spirit is the third Person of the Godhead.

✝️Genesis 1:26 tells us,

👉🏾 “Then God said, ‘Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness.’” Notice that God did not say, “Let Me make man.” The drama of creation required three distinct Actors playing three distinct parts; God was referring to Himself as the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

💥The Holy Spirit was present at creation with the other two members of the Trinity.

✝️Genesis 1:2 NIV tells us,

👉🏾“Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.”

💥The Holy Spirit was present at Jesus’ baptism.

✝️John 1:33 AMP says:

👉🏾“I did not recognize Him [as the Messiah], but He who sent me to baptize in water said to me, ‘He upon whom you see the Spirit descend and remain, this One is He who baptizes with the Holy Spirit.”

💥Let us take a look at some scriptures that will perfectly illustrate the personality of the Holy Spirit:

👉🏾He has a mind (see Romans 8:27).

👉🏾He has a will (see 1 Corinthians 12:11).

👉🏾He has emotions, such as love and joy (see Romans 15:30; Galatians 5:22).

👉🏾He comforts us (see Acts 9:31).

👉🏾 He speaks (see Hebrews 3:7);

*in fact, He speaks clearly (see 1 Timothy 4:1).

👉🏾He teaches (see 1 Corinthians 2:13).

👉🏾He can be made to feel sorrow (see Ephesians 4:30).

👉🏾He can be insulted (see Hebrews 10:29).

👉🏾He can be resisted (see Acts 7:51).

👉🏾 He can be lied to (see Acts 5:1-11).

When Jesus was preparing to leave, He told His disciples in John 14:16-17 that:

👉🏾“And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper (Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor—Counselor, Strengthener, Standby), to be with you forever— the Spirit of Truth, whom the world cannot receive [and take to its heart] because it does not see Him or know Him, but you know Him because He (the Holy Spirit) remains with you continually and will be in you.”

John 14:16-17 AMP

💥The Holy Spirit’s desire is to be our closest friend, yet we have limited His involvement in our lives. The sad truth is we have inadvertently rejected the most fulfilling relationship available to us.

One of my favorite Christian Authors, John Bevere wrote:

💥First, there is virtually no Christian life without the Holy Spirit.

👉🏾Without the Holy Spirit, Christianity is dry, monotonous, and mundane.

👉🏾Without the Holy Spirit, our labor is draining and wearisome

👉🏾Without the Holy Spirit, there is no fellowship with God.

👉🏾There is no revelation without the Holy Spirit

👉🏾In fact, without the Spirit Scripture becomes lethal; for we are told, “the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life” (2 Corinthians 3:6).

👉🏾 There is no vision without the Holy Spirit.

👉🏾 There is no joy without Him.

👉🏾 There is no peace without Him.

👉🏾There is no freedom without the Holy Spirit

👉🏾Remove the Holy Spirit from a church and one of two things will happen:

It will morph into a social club.

It will become a religious institution

👉🏾The Holy Spirit is the means by whom the God the Father get His many works done here on earth according to scripture.

💥In the Bible, “the finger of God” is a metaphorical phrase representing God’s power and direct intervention in human affairs, often used to signify a miraculous act beyond human capability.

💥The Holy Spirit is called the finger of God in the scripture because He is the person in the God head who implements God’s commands and God’s work.

The Holy Spirit does the following works:

👉🏾Creation and maintenance of the universe. (Genesis 1:2; Job 26:13; Psalm 104:30);

👉🏾Devine revelation (John 16:12-15; Ephesians 3:5; 2 Peter 1:21);

👉🏾Salvation (John 3:6; Titus 3:5; 1 Peter 1:2);

👉🏾Jesus’ works on earth were enabled by the Holy Spirit (Isaiah 61:1; Acts 10:38).

💥The Bible describes the Holy Spirit as a person who dwells within believers,

👉🏾He protects us, and transforms us.

👉🏾The Holy Spirit is also God’s advocate, pleading the case of Christians and all creation before God.

💥Other Roles of The Holy Spirit are that;

👉🏾The Holy Spirit is a divine helper who teaches believers and comforts them.

👉🏾The Holy Spirit protects believers from having their salvation stolen.

👉🏾The Holy Spirit washes away sins and makes believers new.

👉🏾The Holy Spirit transforms believers into temples of God.

👉🏾The Holy Spirit intercedes for the needs of Christians and all creation.

💥Here are more Bible verses about the Holy Spirit

✝️Matthew 28:19-20: Believers are baptized in the name of the Holy Spirit.

✝️John 14:26: The Holy Spirit is described as a teacher and advocate.

✝️John 16:13: The Holy Spirit is called the Spirit of truth.

✝️Romans 15:13: The Holy Spirit fills believers with joy and peace.

✝️Galatians 5:22-23: The fruit of the Holy Spirit is love, joy, peace, and more.
