~ JESUS IS YOUR…EXAMPLE @everyone
Following Jesus’ example means imitating his self-humbling, self-giving love. It also means living a life that conforms to his example
The Bible says that Jesus is our example in his life, death, and resurrection, and that we should follow him.
Peter explained in 1 Peter 2:21-25 that:
21 For you have been called for this purpose, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, so that you would follow in His steps,
22 He who committed no sin, nor was any deceit found in His mouth;
23 and while being abusively insulted, He did not insult in return; while suffering, He did not threaten, but kept entrusting Himself to Him who judges righteously;
24 and He Himself brought our sins in His body up on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live for righteousness;
by His wounds you were healed.
25 For you were continually straying like sheep, but now you have returned to the Shepherd and Guardian of your souls
We are to be imitators of God:
Paul instructed in Ephesians 5:1-2 NIV:
”Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children and walk in the way of love,
just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.”
We are to have the mind of Christ.
Philippians 2:5-8 NIV tells us:
”In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus:
Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage;
rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness.
And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death— even death on a cross!”
Jesus washed his disciples’ feet as an act of love, humility, and service, and encouraged us to do the same with one another.
Jesus encouraged us in John 13:14-15 NIV that..
”Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet.
I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you.”
We are to love one another as Jesus loves us.
Jesus commanded us in John 13:34 – 35 AMP saying;
”I am giving you a new commandment, that you love one another.
Just as I have loved you, so you too are to love one another.
By this everyone will know that you are My disciples, if you have love and unselfish concern for one another.””
Also in 1 John 3:16 AMP
”By this we know [and have come to understand the depth and essence of His precious] love:
that He [willingly] laid down His life for us [because He loved us].
And we ought to lay down our lives for the believers.”
We are to receive one another as Jesus receives us.
Paul prayed in Romans 15:5-7 NIV..
”May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude of mind toward each other that Christ Jesus had,
so that with one mind and one voice you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God.”
We are to bear with one another and forgiving one another…
Colossians 3:13 – 17 AMP greatly admonished us:
”bearing graciously with one another, and willingly forgiving each other if one has a cause for complaint against another; just as the Lord has forgiven you, so should you forgive.
Beyond all these things put on and wrap yourselves in [unselfish] love, which is the perfect bond of unity [for everything is bound together in agreement when each one seeks the best for others].
Let the peace of Christ [the inner calm of one who walks daily with Him] be the controlling factor in your hearts [deciding and settling questions that arise].
To this peace indeed you were called as members in one body [of believers].
And be thankful [to God always].
Let the [spoken] word of Christ have its home within you [dwelling in your heart and mind—permeating every aspect of your being] as you teach [spiritual things] and admonish and train one another with all wisdom,
singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs with thankfulness in your hearts to God.
Whatever you do [no matter what it is] in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus [and in dependence on Him], giving thanks to God the Father through Him.”
We are to look unto Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith:
Hebrews 12:2-3 AMP further encourages us…
”[looking away from all that will distract us and] focusing our eyes on Jesus, who is the Author and Perfecter of faith [the first incentive for our belief and the One who brings our faith to maturity],
who for the joy [of accomplishing the goal] set before Him endured the cross, disregarding the shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God [revealing His deity, His authority, and the completion of His work].
Just consider and meditate on Him who endured from sinners such bitter hostility against Himself [consider it all in comparison with your trials], so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.”
JESUS IS TRULY OUR EXAMPLE ON HOW TO RELATE TO ONE ANOTHER.

NOW LET US PRAY
Most gracious God, Lord, we praise You for giving us an example in Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.
Thank You Jesus for the awesome example that You have given us on how to relate to one another.
Thank You Lord for the example of humility that you gave us in washing the feet of Your disciples.
Jesus, I pray that You have mercy on us Lord and cleanse us from all forms of sins where we have displayed lack of humility with Your precious atoning blood.
Holy Spirit, I pray that You would give each one of us the mind of Jesus Christ that would helps us to follow His example.
Holy God, You are our helper to chose love one another, especially those who are difficult to love.
