~ After troubles and distress.
I don’t know about you, but whenever I feel out of place in my relationship with the Lord, I usually lose my peace. I honestly believe that this is how God gets me to examine myself… Is there anything in my life that requires that I repent from?
I slow down to reflect and identify what I am doing or what is in my life that grieves the Holy Spirit. Through His divine help, I am able to identify my sin.
My peace is usually restored when I confess my sin to the Lord and ask for His grace and mercy for repentance. He is merciful when we humble ourselves in confession and repentance to revive and renew us.
Here are some comforting truths from God’s Word:
Hosea 6:1-2 AMP tells us “ Come and let us return [in repentance] to the Lord, For He has torn us, but He will heal us; He has wounded us, but He will bandage us. “After two days, He will revive us; on the third day, He will raise us up that we may live before Him.
Psalms 71:20 AMP “You who have shown me many troubles and distresses Will revive and renew me again, And will bring me up again from the depths of the earth.”
Isaiah 57:15 AMP “For the high and exalted One He who inhabits eternity, Whose name is Holy says this, “I dwell on the high and holy place, But also with the contrite and humble in spirit In order to revive the spirit of the humble And to revive the heart of the contrite [overcome with sorrow for sin]. [Matt 5:3]”
God in His mercy will always restore us when we are contrite and humble in spirit.
1 Peter 2:21 AMP “For [as a believer] you have been called for this purpose, since Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, so that you may follow in His footsteps.”
NOW LET US PRAY
Father in heaven, thank You for Your power to deliver us when we are troubled and distressed. Thank You for the revival that only comes from You. Lord, empower us with the spirit of humility that leads to repentance, so the works of renewal and revival will be complete in us for Your glory. Abide with us at all times, Lord, and protect us from the wickedness of the wicked. In Jesus’ mighty name, I pray. Amen
