Praise be to our God who is a refuge to those among us who are oppressed. He is a God of justice. He is compassionate towards
those who are oppressed.
Here are a few verses that we can pray over any oppressive situation.
The Lord also will be a refuge and a stronghold for the oppressed, A refuge in times of trouble; And those who know Your name [who have experienced Your precious mercy] will put their confident trust in You, For You, O Lord, have not abandoned those who seek You.- Psalms 9:9-10 AMP
Blessed [by God’s grace and compassion] is he who considers the helpless; The Lord will save him in the day of trouble. The Lord will protect him and keep him alive, and he will be called blessed in the land; You do not hand him over to the desire of his enemies. The Lord will sustain and strengthen him on his sickbed; In his illness, You will restore him to health.- Psalms 41:1-3 AMP
I will sing of lovingkindness and justice, To You, O LORD, I will sing praises. The LORD works righteousness and justice for all who are oppressed. Psalms 140:12.
Defend the weak and the fatherless; uphold the cause of the poor and oppressed. Psalm 82:3 (NIV)
LET US PRAY
Gracious God, thank You for Your compassion for those who are oppressed among us. Lord, we pray You will save them, work righteousness, and be a refuge for them according to Your promises. In Jesus’ mighty name, I pray. Amen
