There are times when we find ourselves in the middle of devastating losses. It is safe to say that suffering painful losses in varying degrees is part of life, even for those who believe in Jesus Christ.
The question then is how do we cope with such losses?
I submit to you that, having personally suffered devastating losses in my life, I found that my hope and anchor was and is OUR GOD OF RESTORATION to heal my brokenness.
The Word of God assures us with promises that He will restore His people, those who hope in Him. Here are a few to mediate on:
* Though you have made me see troubles, many and bitter, you will restore my life again; from the depths of the earth you will again bring me up. (Psalms 71:20-21)
*The Lord says, I will give you back what you lost to the swarming locusts. (Joel 2:25)
* He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name sake. (Psalm 23:3)
* He shall be to you a restorer of life and a nourisher of-your old age. (Ruth 4:15)
* And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen and establish you. (1 Peter 5:10)
* Restore to me the joy of your salvation and uphold me with a willing spirit. (Psalm 51.12)
* For I will restore health to you, and your wounds I will heal… (Jeremiah 30:17)
PRAY ALONG:
Gracious God,
Thank You for being a gracious God, who restores us when we have suffered losses. Only You can restore joy where there’s so much pain. Father, my hope is in You, I know You have the power to restore everything the enemy has stolen from me. My health, healing is my bread. The pain of losing loved ones and all forms of brokenness. I pray that we will not be in want when Your restoration is complete in us. In Jesus’ mighty name, I pray. Amen
